Kurtis Scotland does session work with London based RnB artist Sam Cotton, playing live saxophone at his gigs. So far, Kurtis has played with him for two sold out shows at ‘Hyde Park Book Club’ (Leeds) and ‘The Lower Third’ (London). Kurtis also plays live gigs with pop singer Shania Sabrina, helping with charts and arrangements of her existing records for a live setting. With Shania, Kurtis plays regularly across Leeds with noticeable standout shows in London and Liverpool.
Kurtis also does freelance work as an hourly-hire session saxophonist, leading to recordings with various artists in the Leeds music scene, spanning from modern jazz records to folk rock, garage and house music.
Alongside this, Kurtis works alongside fellow jazz musicians as part of his degree on multiple emerging jazz groups (other than Deff60), which has led to local quintet gigs headlining jams at Casa Jam, Sela Bar and the LCon B-side events.
